Writer

I’ve been writing for magazines, newspapers, guidebooks, and websites for more than 20 years, with a focus on the wide, weird, and wonderful world of travel. With articles and assignments that have brought me to more than 60 countries around the globe, my reporting is underpinned by themes of sustainable tourism and sustainability, for clients spanning some of the world’s most prestigious publications (including Condé Nast Traveler, Good Housekeeping, BBC, CNN Travel, AFAR, Fodor’s, Parents, Travel + Leisure, and more).

Since I was a youngling, putting words to paper has been a calling—I never doubted “what I wanted to be when I grew up”: a writer. It’s simply what I was made to do. With a BA in Journalism from SUNY New Paltz and a professional certificate in editing from New York University behind me, and a Master’s in Journalism from Harvard Extension School currently underway, my love of writing is backed up by cutting-edge journalistic training, including extensive researching, interviewing, and fact-checking skills that ensure my stories don’t just skim the surface—they dive deep and offer perspective and polish that engages and enriches readers. And as a former travel editor at AFAR, Fodor’s, ShermansTravel, and Travelzoo, I instinctively know how to deliver what editors want and need.

I’m passionate about telling stories that matter, and using words to spark inspiration and create change. If you’re looking for pitches or to commission specific stories, website content, newsletters, blogs, books, or more, I’m the wordsmith you’ve been looking for: Let’s connect.
